National Skill training Institute(W), Kolkata is an Institute under Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India is conducting New Age Courses (CTS) courses under the aegis of NCVT in the following trades :

Objective : These Courses are to improve trending new age skills to cater the needs of New age industries.
Combination of Subjects : The following subjects are covered.
- Trade Theory
- Trade Practical
- Employability Skills
Start of session :
Eligibility for Admission : Passed 10th class examination or equivalent.
Admission & Award of Certificate :
Candidates can enroll for the above programmes for one year. The minimum pass percent for Trade Practical Examinations, Formative assessment is 60%. For trade theory & employability skills is 33% each . There will be no Grace marks. On possessing the above requisites, candidates will be allowed to appear for the final examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in June / July every year. On passing the prescribed exam, trainees will be awarded the Instructor training Certificate from NCVT.

Mess : Mess charges extra to be borne by the candidates in monthly basis.
Games : Outdoor Games & Open Air Gym facilities are available.
Working Hours : From 09.00 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break on all working days (Monday to Friday).
Attendance : Minimum 80% attendance is required to appear in the Final Trade Test to be held at the end of the course.

The objective of the New Age Course is to train in the techniques of transferring hands-on skills, in order to train semi-skilled / skilled manpower for the industry.
